My journey as a doula began at the start of 2024. As a young teacher feeling burned out by work, I began to nurture my curiosity about pregnancy and birth by casually putting on birth-related podcasts during my long commutes. I rapidly fell down a rabbit hole, becoming passionate about everything from the physiology of childbirth to people's personal birth stories.
I soon started realizing that my passion for childbirth extended far past learning about it for my own sake - I felt a deep, spiritual calling toward educating myself so that I can serve others.
I have since put a pause on teaching and have decided to pursue my passion as a doula. At the start of summer, 2024, I enrolled for the Labour, Birth, and Postpartum Doula training with Cornerstone Doula Trainings. By the end of the summer, I completed the training and have since moved from the Bay Area, California, to Vancouver, Canada.
I am dedicated to offering nourishment and compassion to this time-honoured work, as well as bringing in an evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally-responsive lens. I am honoured to work alongside birthing people, bring community along for the ride, and be a part of this sacred journey, together.
